Director's Corner
Welcome to the Collierville Virtual Academy (CVA)! CVA came about as a response to the global pandemic in March 2020. During that time, like most school districts across the nation, Collierville Schools had to quickly shift to remote learning. I jumped in feet first as we were challenged with finding innovative ways to engage students and provide effective instruction.
While virtual schools had been around prior to the pandemic, this model of teaching and learning was new to us. Many lessons were learned, both good and bad, that impacted how we would educate students moving forward. As a result, we were excited to learn that many families had a desire to continue with virtual learning post pandemic.
In 2021, Collierville Virtual Academy was approved by the Tennessee Department of Education to become the 10th Collierville School! Since then, we have strived for continuous improvement in our practices and providing families with an alternative learning environment to meet the needs of our students. Whether you chose CVA because of a medical, social-emotional, or academic need, or simply because you desire to attend school from home, we are thrilled to have you!
